PSYCHOTHERAPY FOR THE ASIAN DIASPORA IN ONTARIO

Asian therapist in Toronto helping you go from trapped to self-liberated

Trauma-informed therapy for 1.5 and 2nd generation Asian immigrants across Ontario.

THIS ISN’T GENERIC THERAPY

IT NEVER HAS BEEN.

My practice helps 1.5 and 2nd generation Asian immigrants in Ontario move from survival mode to self-liberation, so you can finally stop performing a life that was never really yours.

Most therapy stops at the surface. I don't. Drawing from multiple disciplines including Cultural Anthropology, Gender Studies, Social Work, and Social Justice theory alongside clinical trauma training, I can offer you something most therapists can't: a complete picture of why you are the way you are. Your family history. Your immigrant experience. The generational patterns passed down long before you were born. The racism you absorbed before you even had words for it. All of it is connected. And all of it is workable.

A two-minute introduction, in my own words.

Before you read further, I would like you to hear from me directly. This is who I am, how I work, and what I want for you.

THE APPROACH

Your journey to F.R.E.E.

Therapy can feel like a black box. Here is how we actually work together.

Step 1 — Feelings

We start by understanding how your emotions are connected to your body and why that experience can be so painful. This builds the foundation for everything that follows

Step 2 — Regulating

You will build a real toolkit of strategies to manage what comes up day to day. Personalized, practical tools that work for how your response patterns actually operate.

Step 3 — Exploring

We go deeper into your past, family dynamics, the cultural pressures and unfair systems that shaped you. We connect the dots so healing becomes possible, not just management.

Step 4 — Envisioning

We define what a happy, meaningful life actually looks like for you. Then we build the mindset and take the committed action to make it real.

BEHIND THE BRAND

A therapist who has lived what you are carrying.

I'm Harry Au, a Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist specializing in Asian mental health. I came to this work because I lived it. As a 1.5 generation immigrant, I spent years untangling the same guilt, shame, and identity confusion my clients bring into our sessions.

My approach is different because my background is. I hold degrees in Cultural Anthropology, Gender Studies, and Social Work, and I bring all of it into the room with you.
